THE POLICY OF CLIMATE CHANGE
Week 5, Wednesday September 30
This time we will study the effects of CC on human populations, in particular on:
- Coastal protection
- Sea level effects on communities and nations
- Climate refugees
- Effects on already vulnerable regions
We will go deeper into the policy of CC. There is immense debate about this topic in almost every policy-making meeting. We will study from the largest agreement, like the Paris one, to local strategies to address CC. We will learn from Mikel Gonzalez-Eguino (Research professor at the Basque Center for Climate Change - BC3, Spain). He has been working on the decarbonization of the economies for years trying to come up with ways to make it feasible from a policy perspective.
